<p>Upon reviewing the results of my self-regulated learning survey and the accompanying feedback, I have gained further insight into my learning skills and discovered there are areas that could use improvement. \n\n\n\nFirst and foremost, the survey results have underscored a potential deficiency in my time management skills. While I am fully self-aware in regarding my struggles to adhere to schedules, the survey revealed my tendency to underestimate or inaccurately calculate the time required for assignments. This revelation aligns with my current academic status at UMGC, as I have fallen behind due to a myriad of reasons but definitely included in them is poor time management. The feedback from the survey recommends setting aside regular study times, prioritizing tasks, and practicing the art of estimating assignment completion times. Recognizing the pivotal role of effective time management in bolstering productivity and alleviating stress, I am am now fully committed to implementing these strategies going forward for the brief amount of time I have left in this term. In doing so, I aim to successfully complete all my courses and take with me the lessons of this arduous time going forward. \n\n\n\nIn addition to time management, the survey findings have highlighted a need to improve my help-seeking strategies. It appears that I may falter in seeking assistance when confronted with challenges. Again, this is relevant to my current journey with UMGC because I let myself get buried and have still not reached out for help to my teachers but I intend to rectify that this weekend. Feedback for this deficit offers practical guidance, suggesting the identification of specific areas of difficulty, proactive engagement with advisors, and advocacy for oneself. The transformative potential of seeking help when needed is a concept I have struggled with my entire life and have been working on in therapy but I am resolute in my commitment to adopting these strategies. By embracing a proactive stance towards seeking assistance, I hope to never put myself in these kinds of situations again. \n\n\n\nLastly, the survey results raise concerns regarding my study environment and susceptibility to distractions during study. It is true that distractions during study time have impeded my progress both historically and presently. The survey feedback proposes setting rules for quiet study times, minimizing technology distractions, and identifying comfortable study spaces. I already have the bulk of this in place but there are slight tweaks I could make to improve this area of self-paced learning as well. \n\n\n\nIn conclusion, my self-regulated learning survey and the accompanying feedback affirmed much of what I already knew and reaffirmed some things I was intentionally avoiding giving credence to. By heeding the recommendations outlined in the feedback and committing to implementing strategies aimed at enhancing my time management, help-seeking, and environmental management skills, I am poised to embark on a journey of academic self-improvement. With a determination to finish strong and make this semester a mark of change going forward, I am confident in my ability to overcome challenges and achieve greater success in my learning pursuits in the future.
